these kinds of articles are so important as no one talks about the challenges of realising you have put hours into something (at the cost of paid work) and made nothing. It might be ok when you’re 21 but when you’re in your 30'w or 40’s its a different story. I learnt the hard way after leaving a well paid respected job to start a charity. By the time we started making money for a proper salary we were burnt out and had to use it to pay back debts etc. My biggest regret is not saving a big chunk of cash before making the jump.
